Happy Mother’s Day!

Mood: You’ll Be in My Heart by Phil Collins

I just had a late lunch/early dinner with my family for Mother’s Day. We ate at World Gourmet, a Chinese buffet restaurant. It wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be but at the same time we got there around 5pm before the rush. And it was nice that my brother was with us.

He recently came back from the Philippines and for awhile I felt he was trying to avoid spending too much time with me. Before he left a year ago we weren’t on the best of terms. A lot has happened since then, like he now has a son and finished high school in the Philippines. I’m very proud of him. And today my dad was grilling him on his ex (his son’s mom) and wanted to know what his plans are for his life. I tried to explain to my dad that he’s still trying to figure things out. He’s turning 18 next week and I know things will start turning around for him.

Now as for Mother’s Day, I didn’t have extra money for gifts, so I had to be creative. I made mini buttons for my mom and bought her balloons. The buttons were pictures of her and my dad, her and Jordan (my brother’s son), her and my sister, and my sister and brother. She said she liked it and will put it on her purse.

I guess no matter how old I get, I’ll always want my mom’s (and dad’s) approval on things. =)
