Ate Nida was my mom’s youngest sister in the Philippines. Growing up I always remembered her smiling and laughing. She was like a second mom to me.
She’s been battling diabetes and recently had laser eye surgery. Then one day she woke up and everything was dark. She got depressed and didn’t have any will to live. The beginning of the year she had a stroke and had been in the hospital since.
I got the call from my mom this morning that she passed away.
I will miss you but I know you’re in a more peaceful place free of pain and sorrow. I’ll see you again in my dreams. I love you.
