Last night I had dinner with a friend. We used to date and now we’ve reconnected again. I feel that we’re more open now with each other as friends. Another factor is that a lot has happened in each of our lives that has gotten us to this point. He went through a major health issue and I went through a great depression and tried to commit suicide.

We both came out of it and trying to now build a friendship. He’s in a relationship and he wants to build a family with her but he questions her commitment to their future. I gave my two cents and hopefully some insight. They’ve been together for years and I told him she’s worth the fight and if it has to take for couples counseling…then do it.

As for my love life…it’s pretty non-existent. But now that I have more time on my hands maybe I can go on more dates. Sux that I have to go into the whole explanation of I have no job. I guess because I’ve been raised to always be a worker bee. And when I don’t have a job, I see myself as a waste. But I know I’m not and I am doing what I can to change the situation. I just hear my dad in the background, "what are you going to do about your finances? When are you going to get a job? What about your money? Don’t be a bum." Oh dad…

Ok…enough negativity in the morning. Today is going to be an awesome day! Spending sometime with my lil sis. Well not so little…she’s turning 23 next week. Which makes me realize that I’m no longer in my 20’s and my future is a bit shaky. But I do know that nothing is going to happen if I’m not proactive. So I’m going to continue to take course that improve my well being, continue to look for a job, date, and sprinkle some fun in there.

Today I was paying for my lunch and the cashier saw my buttons on my bag. I created some with new designs and decided to sport them on my bag. He asked where I got them and I said I made them. He said, "what, really? What company do you work for?" I said I created them at home. He said, "wow, they look very professional like you bought them at a store." I said, "thank you so much!" (With a big smile on my face!)

I was actually having second thoughts about putting my products up. I wasn’t sure if they’d be good enough or even professional looking. But I guess I’m on the right track. I’ll take pictures of my latest products and put them up for everyone to see and even order.

By the way, I told the cashier that I have lots more at home and he can have a button of his choice. He picked one and was so happy. Him smiling reminded me of why I create buttons in the first place. I love seeing people smile and happy over something little like a button. Especially if they have their favorite saying on it…

He made my day…

Today I decided to take another drive down to Santa Cruz but this time down Highway 1. It was a peaceful drive…Taking Back Sunday and Green Day in the cd player, the sun shining bright, and the babies napping in the back seat.

At one point we stopped at one of the beaches along Highway 1, Pescadero Beach, and took some shots. We weren’t able to go down to the beach because dogs are not allowed. Boo

On the way home we took 17 instead because it was about to get dark soon. But before it got really dark I got to take some sunset shots too.

The other day I had lunch with a childhood friend of mine. She called me in the beginning of the week and wanted to have lunch since we hadn’t seen each other for a month (and before that was over 10 years).

It was good to catch up. I was still in awe that she has two kids (both very beautiful). It felt like it was just yesterday we were in high school.

It made me realize that I continue to live in the past or at least let my past live in my present. I have to constantly remind myself to let things be, let things go and grow from it all.
